Welcome to StoryCloud. As CEO, I’m delighted to share our journey with you as the leading provider of low cost nationwide video deposition services for litigators. In the weeks and months ahead, I’ll provide candid personal insights on a wide variety of professional issues facing the industry. The deposition sector of the litigation market is quite interesting. To a very large extent, the technology and business processes have remained unchanged for the past 40 years. It is ripe for interruption and scalable efficiencies, many of which are on StoryCloud’s roadmap. At the end of the day, however, we are in the business of helping our legal clients to lower costs while making them more effective litigators. Much of this fundamental value will come from the StoryCloud platform, but additionally, we will also be creating podcasts, aiming to discuss how litigators apply the craft of deposing witnesses, and sharing the experiences of our clients with you. The goal, of course, is to help your practice.

StoryCloud, as you may know, is a startup technology company. For this venture, we have raised more than $8 million in capital and have a deep pedigree in technology and process engineering. For example, during the past 25 years, the team has created five startup companies ranging from fault tolerant telecommunications hardware and middleware to internet search and advertising. To date, the result of every company has been an enormous “home run” exit and success.

Being a CEO is actually an unusual job, particularly at a startup. It is frequently misunderstood. Often, the job revolves around managing the expectations of various constituencies. For example, corporations are owned by the shareholders. CEO’s report to a board of directors and are inherently focused on providing shareholder value. Yet, at various times there are equally if not more important constituencies that must be addressed. Our customers, fellow employees, and vendors all share in the need to be prioritized, heard, and championed.

This makes our collective journey both fascinating and fulfilling. I speak for our entire team when I express our delight with creating and providing innovative solutions with incredible value for our customers. We learn directly from you how to do it better every day.
